A shared story

It all starts in 2021, in the yard of the IMOCA team Guyot - Water Family. Matéo and Pierre both work there as preparation technicians. Colleagues in the yard quickly become partners on the water and friends ashore.

On the Mini 6.50 circuit, results follow: victory in the Massilia Cup in 2023, then Palma-Melilla in 2024 and the Calvados Cup in 2025. In November 2025 each completes his Mini Transat: 37th for Pierre, 8th for Matéo on his 25th birthday. By then the duo has logged more than 24,000 racing miles. Barely back from that not-so-quiet crossing, FPFP, Matéo's title partner on the Mini Transat, renewed its support by putting Class40 hull #185 at the duo's disposal to change scale.

2026 starts strong on hull #185, a 2022 Mach40.5 by Sam Manuard. An express handover, and right away the first race sets the tone: 2nd in the RORC Caribbean 600 in Antigua. The season then chains La Trin'40, Armen Race and Normandy Channel Race, before the big rendezvous on 1 November: the Route du Rhum.

The final goal: the Globe40, a double-handed round-the-world race in six legs. Start from Lorient in September 2028, finish in May 2029. Until then: three racing seasons, six transatlantic races, and places on board for partners who want to join the story.

The project also sails for a cause: Team 185 supports the French cancer research association ARC, offering patients, carers and researchers a day of escape at sea.
